PRACTICE MANAGER

Reports to: Regional Operations Director
Position Philosophy/Summary
The Practice Manager oversees overall success of the medical practices to which they are assigned as it relates to operational and fiscal performance, as well as patient and employee engagement, while maintaining the safety compliance and licensing for both state and federal requirements.
The Practice Manager creates and maintains teams where each member performs responsibilities and duties at top-of-license. This is assured through management of retention-focused hiring practices, on-going staff evaluations, counseling/corrective actions and annual performance evaluations. Regular staff meetings are conducted to effectively communicate office and corporate initiatives, training and corporate goals. The Practice Manager works collaboratively with other departments to meet practice needs in line with team philosophy. This individual supervises a team of other leaders (i.e. Practice Coordinators, Team Leads, etc.) and reports directly to the Regional Market Director.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Responsible for rounding and communicating with Providers daily
- Manages all day to day operations, inclusive of maintaining patient service levels, maximum schedule utilization, accessibility and assuring all associates provide a superior patient experience
- Assists in identifying new revenue streams in market. Collaborates with providers and business development for recruiting of providers (site tours, gathering provider feedback, etc.) and cultivation of business development opportunities in their areas
- Achieves time of service patient collection targets
- Responsible for achieving all budget and fiscal related objectives, including P&L
- Responsible for staff performance management inclusive of decision-making related to merit increases, hiring, promotions, corrective action and termination decisions.
- Positively impacts employee engagement and turnover
- Promotes collaboration with outside departments such as Pharmacy and Lab regarding coordination protocols
- Coordinates medication on back order
- Assures implementation and adherence to policies and procedures in emergency circumstances such as an active shooter or other violent/threatening situation
- Assures implementation and adherence to Armstrong Codes
- Directly supervises a leadership team
- Ability to communicate, present within a Board Room / Executive-level presence
- Ability to present to medium and large groups with varied audiences of stakeholders (i.e. at POD, LEADS or SWAT meetings)
- Ability to organize teams and effectively manage meetings (in person or virtual) for specific projects in their locations
- Talent identification from within their own teams and creating opportunities for their advancement
- Flexibility to travel regularly to all medical practices within their region
Required Knowledge and Experience
- BA/BS Preferred with Practice Management Certification
- 5+ years direct healthcare management experience of similar scope
Required Skills and Abilities
Communication: Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization.
Reasoning Ability: Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
Computer Skills: Proficiency with EMR systems and software applications, including Microsoft Office Suite. Advanced knowledge of Excel needed. Athena knowledge preferred.
