We also promise to care for you as an individual and help you grow in your role The Senior Associate Counsel will be responsible for providing legal support and guidance on healthcare regulatory matters and transactions. This role involves advising on compliance with federal and state regulations, assisting with contract negotiations, and supporting the organization's strategic initiatives in the healthcare sector. Develops and reviews an organization's policies, practices, and guidelines. Assists in protecting an organization's legal interest and maintaining its operations within the scope established by law. Provides counsel to senior leadership. Identifies and analyzes legal issues, drafts key documents, presents clear recommendations to top management, and assures legal compliance. Assists or represents the organization in business negotiations.
Responsibilities
• Provide legal advice on health care regulatory issues, including but not limited to HIPAA, Stark Law, Anti-Kickback Statute, and other relevant regulations.
• Assist in the negotiation, drafting, and review of contracts related to healthcare transactions, including asset purchase agreements, provider employment agreements, provider service agreements, leases, and joint ventures.
• Conduct legal research and analysis to support compliance initiatives and regulatory filings.
• Collaborate with internal stakeholders, including compliance, finance, human resources, business development and operations teams, to ensure alignment with legal requirements.
• Monitor changes in health care laws and regulations and assess their impact on the organization.
• Assist in the development and implementation of policies and procedures to ensure compliance with applicable laws and regulations.
• Support the General Counsel in managing litigation and regulatory investigations as needed.
• Provide training and guidance for staff on legal and compliance matters.
• Demonstrate excellent guest service to internal team members and patients.
• Perform other related duties as assigned.
Qualifications
• Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.
• Admission to the bar in Florida, Texas, NC, Tennessee, and/or Georgia, preferred but not limited to.
• 4+ years of experience in healthcare law, with a focus on regulatory compliance and transactions.
• Strong knowledge of healthcare regulations and laws.
• Excellent analytical, research, and writing skills.
• Ability to communicate complex legal concepts clearly and effectively to non-legal stakeholders.
• Strong negotiation skills and attention to detail.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
• Ability to work independently in a fast-paced, cross-functional environment.
Physical Demands
• Sedentary work. Exerting up to 10 pounds of force occasionally and/or negligible amount of force frequently or constantly to lift, carry, push, pull, or otherwise move objects. Repetitive motion. Substantial movements (motions) of the wrists, hands, and/or fingers. The worker must have close visual acuity to perform an activity such as: preparing and analyzing data and figures; transcribing; viewing a computer terminal; extensive reading. Ability to lift to 15 lbs. independently not to exceed 50 lbs. without help.
