Summary

The IT EMR Specialist is responsible for assisting in integrating a newly acquired practice's EMR system with Millennium Physician Group's EMR system.  Th EMR specialist will work closely with the practice manager to understand how the existing EMR is used and to export the necessary data to be imported into our EMR system.  Primary focus will be working with the Integration Team to ensure clinical equipment is working properly with the new computing equipment and technology and existing medical records are integrated into the supported EMR. They will assist in answering questions on the usage of the EMR during the acquisition of the new office and until it is transitioned to operational support.

 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

  • Assists with EMR integration and working with the Clinical Informatics Team to ensure clinical data migration.
  • Assists with collecting and migrating demographics of medical records into current EMR prior to the start date for acquisitions.
  • Will exercise discretion and judgement to assist with integration and testing into other clinical systems.
  • Evaluate practice workflows to integrate into our workflows. May need to customize training materials.
  • Will need to analyze work flow and procedures, including consulting with users, to determine hardware, software, or system specifications.
  • 1st point for questions on use of EMR during the acquisition.
  • Assist the IT Integration Team with setup of new office or office move
  • Adhere to company Standards of Behaviors.
  • Must be willing to travel as needed.

Education and/or Experience

Education: Bachelor of Science in a related field

Experience: 3 yrs of working knowledge on EMR technology and practice management. Strong knowledge of physician office business practices, clinical workflows, concepts and terminology sufficient to implement and support IT applications.

Ability to calculate figures and amounts, as necessary.

Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.

 

Computer Skills

To perform this job successfully, an individual should have knowledge of Microsoft Office; EMR software, and ADP Payroll systems.
